The Davie Family YMCA will celebrate its 30th birthday on Saturday, June 12, and is inviting the public to join in on the celebration.

There will be an open house from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. that will include free food and tours.

On June 12, 1991, the Davie Family YMCA opened its doors to Mocksville and the surrounding communities, offering a place for overall wellness, programs for youth, and space for the community to gather and connect.

“Being a part of a community for 30 years is an honor and a blessing, and it’s a privilege we don’t take lightly,” said Luke Harris, operations director at the Davie Family YMCA. “While we’re thrilled for what the next 30 years and hopefully many more will bring, we’re looking forward to taking this time to look back on the three decades we’ve called Mocksville and Davie County home.”

The celebration is open to anyone in the community who is interested in learning more about the facility.

The Y is offering introductory rates for new memberships — personal for $29 per month and $49 per month for a household — for the first three months. Existing members can refer a friend and receive $100 in “Y Cash.” Both offers are available for a limited time.
