The contractor for the I-40 project at the Davie-Forsyth line is scheduled to close both directions of I-40 between NC 801 (Exit 180) and Harper Road (Exit 182) during the overnight hours of Friday, July 10  into Saturday, July 11.

On Friday July 10, the contractor will begin installing lane closures on I-40 at 6 p.m. and a full road closure of I-40 will be installed beginning at 11 p.m.

Detours will be utilized with all I-40 Eastbound traffic exiting at NC 801 (Exit 180) and all I-40 Westbound traffic exiting at Harper Road (Exit 182). Detoured traffic will use NC 801, US 158, and Harper Road.

All lanes of I-40 are expected to be reopened to traffic by 7 a.m. Saturday, July 11.

This closure is required for the contractor to safely set the new pedestrian bridge over I-40. This work is weather dependent and may be subject to change.
