Student artists recognized

: Davie Schools’ students recognized for their holiday card art include: Bentley Perez from Cooleemee Elementary, Zoe Wallace from Cornatzer Elementary, Avery Gladd of Shady Grove Elementary; Gloria Espitia-Moreno of Mocksville Elementary; Leah Gibson of William R. Davie Elementary, Kyler Quarles of Pinebrook Elementary, Riley Mulgrew of Central Davie Academy, Makayla Phelps of Davie County Early College High School, Hannah Meacham of North Davie Middle, and Peyton Green of South Davie Middle.

Students were recognized at the December Board of Education meeting for their holiday artwork submissions for the Davie County Schools Holiday Card contest.

Each DCS school was represented. The artwork of each student is also printed on the card.

Leah Gibson of William R. Davie Elementary School, Peyton Green of South Davie Middle School and Makayla Phelps of Davie County Early College High School, were the elementary, middle and high school winners.

The artwork of the overall winner, Makayla Phelps, is featured on the front of the DCS holiday card.

School winners were:

• Zoe Wallace, fifth grade, Cornatzer Elementary;

• Gloria Espitia-Moreno, fifth grade, Mocksville Elementary;
