Peggy Victoria Garwood, 85, of Troutman, died on Friday, Oct. 18, 2019 at her residence.

She was born on March 16, 1934 in Mooresville to the late Hampton and Margaret Wilhelm Winecoff. Mrs. Garwood was a member of Vanderburg United Methodist Church in Mooresville. She was outgoing, selfless in every way, and caring. She was a caregiver most of her life. She supported the Mooresville Soup Kitchen and volunteered at local nursing homes. Mrs. Garwood was a member of the Red Hat Ladies and her church was her passion.

She was also preceded in death by: sisters, Phyllis and Thelma; and brothers, Ed, Jim, and Bill.

Survivors: her children, James Randall Garwood, Tami Garwood Langdon (Bruce), and Sue Garwood; sister, Gwen Light; grandchildren, JC Garwood, Khristen Mears, Angela Bell, Maddi Wever, Winston Wever, Malcolm Wever, Hayley Bumgarner, Garrett Gibbs; and numerous great-grandchildren.

The family received family and friends on Sunday, Oct. 20 from 2-3 p.m. at Vanderburg United Methodist Church. Burial was private.
