Ms. Carolyn Latham Lyerly, 81, of Mocksville, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2019 at Iredell Hospice following a period of declining health.
She had been a resident of Davie Nursing & Rehab Center since September 2017. She was born Nov. 1, 1937 in Davie County to the late James Martin Latham and Polly Tutterow Latham.
She was a homemaker, a cook, providing many meals for the Mocksville Rotary and Lions clubs. She also worked with her late husband in his floral business. In later years, she served in the role of caregiver for family members and others. Among her greatest joys was helping with Center BBQ and Fair. She was a member of Center United Methodist Church, Center Community Development Association, and Center ECA.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Lyerly.
Survivors: sister-in-laws, Betty Jo Blume and Margaret L. Douglas of Salisbury, Martha L. Deal of Woodleaf, and Jane L. Dyson of Cooleemee; and many cousins and friends.
A graveside memorial service was conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27 at Center United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. John Erwin officiating.
