After starting the season strong at Pine Knolls, Davie came up with a fine encore at Maple Chase Golf and Country Club on Sept. 3.
The War Eagles again finished second out of six Central Piedmont Conference teams. They took second in back-to-back CPC meets for the first time since 2010, which was the last time Davie reached second in the league.
Junior Kyleigh Harnsberger had two birdies and finished fourth at 2-over 39. It’s the second time in her Davie career that she carded 2-over or better in consecutive matches.
Sophomore Annika McDaniel, who birdied a hole and tied for fifth at 44, shot a career-best round for the second time in as many tries this season. (She had 10-over 46 at Pine Knolls.)
And junior Caroline Bliss also notched a birdie on the way to 11th place at 11-over 48.
Reagan was first as a team at 4-over 115. Davie (131), West Forsyth (134), Reynolds (149), East Forsyth (161) and Glenn (182) rounded out the scoring.
The CPC standings through 18 holes: Reagan 222, Davie 257, West 272, Reynolds 284, East 308 and Glenn 374.
