Enjoy a little blues, beach, country, funk and rock as one of Mocksville’s hometown bands, Tess & the Black & Blues, takes center stage Saturday night, July 27 from 7-10 p.m. in the quad near Restaurant 101 in downtown Mocksville.
Founded in 2014, this group features Davie County locals Tess Welch on vocals; Grady McClamrock Jr. on rhythm guitar; Gary Chilton on lead guitar; Ken Simonds on bass; Jerry Smith on keyboards; and Darren Boles on drums.
They play music from artists like Sheryl Crow, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Bonnie Raitt, Linda Ronstadt, Jimmy Buffet and the Eagles.
This performance is part of the free Concerts on the Square series sponsored by the Town of Mocksville.
Future performances: Aug. 10, Jukebox Rehab (country); Aug. 24, 60 Watt Combo (classic rock, rhythm ‘n blues); Sept. 14, Exit 180 Band (rock, southern rock, classic rock, country, blues); and Sept. 28, Poundcake (Rock).
