Mary Ellen Waller, 76, of Mocksville died on June 18, 2019 while under the care of The Laurels of Salisbury.
She was born June 6, 1943 in Baltimore, Md., a daughter to the late Jess Andrew Taylor and Opal Mae Bear Taylor. She attended schools in Statesville and in the summer of 1965, she married Wayne Manuel Waller Sr. She was a seamstress and was of the Baptist faith. She loved dolls and flowers and her top priority was always her children.
She was also preceded in death by: her daughter, Jewel Christine Waller; brothers, Bob Taylor and R.C. Taylor; and siblings Dot, Little Jessie, Lou and sis and Charles Goodman.
Survivors: her husband of 54 years, Wayne Waller Sr.; her son, Wayne Waller Jr. (Kim) of Mooresville; daughter, Mary Ellen Ferguson (Steve) of Statesville; brothers, Jimmy Taylor (Linda) of Statesville, and Howard Taylor (Lorrie) of Cleveland; sisters, Elaine Goodman of Salisbury, Rosie Jones (Doug) of Florida, June Payette (Dave) of Virginia, and Bonnie Bulow (Ted) of Florida; 4 grandchildren, Marie, Alan, Abby and Caleb, Donnie and Nelly of Mocksville; and others, including Kay, Ann, Sue Williams and Kim Gray.
A visitation was held on Thursday, June 20 at the Davie Funeral Service Chapel in Mocksville from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Another visitation was held on Friday, June 21 at the Morning Star Baptist Church in Cleveland from noon-2 p.m. A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. at the church, with Pastor Ronald Young officiating. Burial was at Rowan Memorial Park.
