John Clyde “Ronnie” “Cowboy” Daniels, 69, of Mocksville died on April 30, 2019 at his home.
He was born April 3, 1950 in Burke County, a son to the late John Anderson Daniels and Geneva Mae Champ. He attended Burke County Schools and later married Julia Hack. He was self-employed and his family described him as “The White Fred Sanford”.
He was also preceded in death by: daughter, Christi; grandson, Brad Joseph Leonard Jr.; sisters, Clydie Mae Athey, Mary Lou Storey, Henrietta Leffler, Connie Daniels-Haines, Georgia Daniels and Nancy Marie Daniels.
Survivors: wife of 23 years, Julia Hack Daniels; sons, John Chris Daniels of Martinsville, Va., Shane Daniels of Salisbury, Richard Davison of Bastdrop, Texas, Mark Dixon of Mocksville, Gary LaBarron Jr. of Mocksville, and Paul Davison (Charlotte) of Bastdrop; daughters, Misty McDaniel (Greg) of Salisbury, LaTonya Daniels-Hernandez (Alfredo) of Kernersville, Kelly Craig-Nunez and Brittany Craig-Aguilar of Martinsville, Jessica Martinez (Marty) of Bastdrop, Rachel Weeks, Shirley Shipton and Irmagean Stoneman; 33 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and his dog, Sissy.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 3 from noon-2:00 p.m. at the Davie Funeral Service Chapel in Mocksville, followed by a memorial service with the Rev. Jill Smith officiating.
