Mrs. Patsy Ann Bates Hanes, 82, died on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at her home in Advance.
She was born Nov. 3, 1936 in Forsyth County to Marvin Woodrow and Mildred Allen Bates. She graduated from Mocksville High School in 1954 and was a life member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church. Mrs. Hanes retired from Integon/GMAC Insurance Co. after 33 years. She enjoyed volunteering at Storehouse for Jesus.
Surviving: her husband of 59 years, James “Sonny” Hanes of the home; 2 sons, Jeff Hanes (Stacey) of Advance and David Hanes (Rikki Bertschi) of High Point; a grandson, Trey Estep; a sister, Nancy Smith, and a brother, Woodie Bates, all of Advance.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, April 29 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church with Drs. Chuck Baker and Barry Lemons officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
