At least three cross walks will be held in Davie on Friday – solemn occasions where residents walk with a cross as Jesus did.
• Mocksville’s cross walk will begin at 10 a.m. at Cemetery and North Main streets and travel on Main Street to First Presbyterian.
• Cooleemee’s cross walk also starts at 10 a.m., at Refuge Baptist Church in the shopping center, for the walk to First Baptist Church, where refreshments will be available.
• The Farmington area “Cross Walk” begins at 6 p.m. at the Farmington Community Center and ends at the Farmington Community Cemetery with a short closing service.
Believers from area churches will gather to worship and experience a Christ-centered evening remembering Jesus’s last hours. The walk will include stops to sing and hear readings from Jesus’s disciples.
The walk is less than one mile, with stops at the Farmington Baptist Church, The Feedbag Restaurant and Farmington Methodist Church. Participants may start from the beginning or join in at any point, or wait at the cemetery if walking is not an option.
Parking will be available at the community center or Farmington Methodist Church. Consider carpooling from Farmington Methodist to the community center.
In case of rain, the walk will be held at Cornerstone Christian Church.
