Von Caswell Shelton

Von Caswell Shelton, 87, of Mocksville, died on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2019.

Mr. Shelton was retired from Shelton Construction Co. and was a proud soldier in the U.S; Air Force during the Korean War. The son of the late Joseph and Johnsie Shelton, he was born on Jan. 20, 1932, in Davie County.

Survivors: his wife of 65 years, Madeline Boger Shelton; his children, Cindy McLean (Bart) of Atlanta, Ga.; Sandra Shelton of Mocksville; Dawn Shelton of Mocksville; Ken Shelton (Loye) of Advance; grandchildren, Kara Anderson of Atlanta, Jordan McLean of Atlanta, Jana Hughes of Charlotte, Amanda Hughes of Winston-Salem, Ryan Shelton of Chapel Hill, and Parker Shelton of Advance; and his brother, Bob Shelton (Peggy) of Mocksville.

A memorial service will be held at the Salisbury National Cemetery at 11 a.m.  Friday, Feb. 22, officiated by Dr. Glenn L. Myers Jr., pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Mocksville, with military honors to be accorded by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard and the US Air Force Honors Team.
