The Advance Fire Department Auxiliary will host the third annual chicken stew competition on Saturday, Feb. 16 from 5-8 p.m. at the main Advance Fire Department on NC 801.

Tickets for adults and children will be available at the door. Adults $10/c hild (10-under) $5 for all you can eat chicken stew, hotdogs, and dessert. Each meal also includes one vote for your favorite stew chef and additional votes may be purchased for $1 each.

Entertainment will be provided by the Hazy Ridge Bluegrass Band.

The auxiliary is accepting competition entries and are also seeking dessert donations.

Last year, Del and Chad Cooper, representing Team Hartman, took home the prize and will return this year to defend their title along with 2017 Champions Jeff and Lora Carter.

Proceeds benefit the Advance Fire Department Auxiliary and are used for events such as What Christmas Is All About, fire scene rehab, and community outreach.
