Michael Alan Carter, 63, died on Dec. 16, 2017, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem following an extended illness.

He was born in Havre de Grace, Md. on Feb. 13, 1954, son of the late Adam Carter and the late Alene Coulson. While in Davie County he worked as a groundskeeper and supervisor for Budd Industries.  He was an artist and enjoyed reading.

Survivors: a brother, Terry Carter of Mocksville; 4 sisters, Sandra C. Money, Pamela Everhart, Louise Beck and Sharon Griffey, all of Mocksville.

The family will have a private memorial service.
