Clarence Burett Rupard

Clarence Burett Rupard, 94, of Mocksville, died on Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017. He had been residing in Shelbyville, Tenn. with a son for the last two years.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Oct. 28 at 10 a.m. at Eaton Funeral Home in Mocksville. The family received visitors Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017, from 4-8 p.m. at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel in Shelbyville, Tenn., and Friday, Oct. 27 from 6-8 p.m. at Eaton Funeral Home in Mocksville.
He was born May 3, 1923, in Huntsville, to the late L. Artifus Rupard and Mary Pearl Weatherman Rupard. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and served at Pearl Harbor and in post-war Japan, where he learned to speak Japanese. He was a farmer and held a patent on an implement he devised. He was a kind and generous man who loved the Lord and his family. He was a faithful member of North Main Street Church of Christ in Mocksville.
He was also preceded in death by his brothers: Beamer Rupard, Turner Rupard, Robert Rupard, Sherrill Rupard, and Gilmer Rupard; sisters, Capitola Pilcher, Inez Hines, Flossie Loflin, Dottie Renager, Lovie West, Martha Melton, and Mary Luna Fulk.
Survivors: his children, Howard Rupard of Shelbyville, Art Rupard of Mocksville, Tracy (Esthel) Rupard of Raleigh, and Melinda Rupard of Raleigh; the mother of his children, Estelle Kluttz; and 4 grandchildren, Afia Carolina Rupard, Carly Beth Rupard, Madeline Grace Rupard, and Olive Jane Rupard.
