Davie County Public Library has new wall art in the multi-purpose room.
Bruce White of Wild Mountain Arts in Farmington was a mentor to teens working on the project.
The library challenged Mr. White and the teens to create a word wall and a mural based on the 2017 Summer Reading Theme- “Build a Better World.”
White and the teens brainstormed the words to include on the wall. Then White developed a sketch to illustrate “Building a Better Davie County.”
Teens and adults volunteered to help paint the works over 10 weeks of the summer.
“Staff at the library could not be more pleased with the completed wall art,” said Jane McAllister, director. “We wish to thank Mr. White for his creativity, expertise and volunteerism, as he donated more than 50 hours of his time this summer toward the project. Citizens are welcome to stop by the library anytime to see the walls as long as a group does not have the room in use.”
