Helen Virginia Hamilton Correll Hood

Mrs. Helen Virginia Hamilton Correll Hood, 87, of Fairfield Road, Mocksville, died Sunday, July 23, 2017, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
She was born Nov. 25, 1929 in Davie County to the late Richard Fuller and Zula Alice Hartley Hamilton. Mrs. Hood was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church. She loved cooking and enjoyed camping and chocolate ice cream.
She was also preceded in death by her first husband, John Lewis Correll; 6 sisters; and 4 brothers.
Survivors: her husband, Billy Wren Hood of the home; 4 children, Robert Correll (Marsha), Bill Correll (Peggy), all of Mocksville, Johnny Correll (Robin) of Tyro and Vickie Correll McDaniel (Gary) of Oak Island; 7 grandchildren; 4 stepgrandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 4 stepgreat-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 26 at Liberty United Methodist Church with the Rev. Beverly Gaska officiating. Burial will follow in Rowan Memorial Park, Salisbury. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
