The body of a man missing since early 2012 was found Nov. 3 a couple of hundred yards or so from where he was last seen.

It took 10 days to confirm the remains were that of Ricky Harrison, formerly of Millwright Court, said Mocksville Police Major P.A. Reagan.

Someone walking through the woods near Milling and Bethel church roads spotted the body.

Harrison had been reported mission in March, 2012 after he left home going for a walk. Searches at that time turned up no clues of his whereabouts.

Harrison suffered from severe diabetes and other medical problems, and none of his prescriptions had been filled since that time. His body was sent to the N.C. Medical Examiner’s office for a autopsy.
