On Oct. 19, at Cub Scout Pack 574’s den meetings, nine Cub Scouts were recognized with the “Rocket Into Scouting Recruiter Award.” These young men attended Mocksville and Cornatzer elementary schools’ recruitment nights for Pack 574 and invited other boys to join Cub Scouting. Through their actions and enthusiasm for Scouting, these boys were responsible for doubling the size of Pack 574 this fall.
Travis Rubelee, director of field service for Old North State Council, said in a letter to each Scout: “I would like to personally thank you for making a difference in the Scouting program by recruiting one of your friends to join the best youth movement in the world.”
Each boy also received a council patch to be sewn onto their uniforms.
“You will discover that the patch’s stars glow in the dark to help you light the way for Scouting’s future,” Rubelee said.
