Bill Harrison Smith Sr.
Mr. Bill Harrison Smith Sr., 84, of Woodleaf, died Saturday, June 14, 2014 at his residence.
Born Aug. 9, 1929 in Iredell County, Mr. Smith was the son of the late Emma Florance Hendren and Adlie Harrison Smith. Mr. Smith was educated in Alexander County, after which he served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked as a truck driver for 20 years and for Fiber Industries for 20 years. He enjoyed working in his small engine and lawn mower repair shop. He was a member of Gay’s Chapel United Methodist Church.
Preceding him in death is his wife, Lois Faye Goodman Smith and great-grandson, Logan Scott Rabon.
Survivors: his sons, Bill Harrison Smith Jr. of Salisbury, Barry Dale Smith (Pam) of Salisbury, Brian Wayne Smith of Salisbury; daughter, Roxanne Smith of Woodleaf; 5 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was Monday, June 16 at Summersett Funeral Home. Funeral service was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, at Gay’s Chapel United Methodist Church. Burial with military honors followed in the church cemetery.
