Fired Officer Faces Assault Charge

A Mocksville police assistant chief fired from his job nearly a year and a half ago faces new problems.
And the claim he filed with the EEOC about his firing may have been dismissed.
Kenneth Lee Hunter, 56, of Madison Road, Mocksville was charged April 26 for with misdemeanor assault on a female.
According to Davie County Sheriff’s Office Chief J.D. Hartman, officers responded to Hunter’s residence that Friday around 5:20 p.m. They discovered a 15-year-old female in the home’s driveway, Hartman said.
“The juvenile said that her mother’s boyfriend (Hunter) had hit her in the face and assaulted her.”
Hartman said that officers questioned Hunter who told them the juvenile had mishandled her step-brother and that an altercation had ensued. “He said that he disciplined her and she resisted that discipline.”
Hartman said the juvenile’s mother was notified and a report was taken of the incident. Later, the mother and juvenile came to the magistrate’s office where warrants …
