Two men remain in the hospital after being shot and stabbed in their Davie home Monday evening.
According to Davie County Sheriff’s Detective Sgt. Scot Kimel, deputies were dispatched to a home on Mason Road around 11 p.m. on Oct. 3 in response to a shooting.
“When officers arrived they found two victims with gunshot wounds to their heads and other parts of their bodies, along with multiple stab wounds,” Kimel said.
The names of the two male victims have not been released, but according to Kimel they remain in a Winston-Salem hospital.
On Monday evening officers were looking for a third victim, but later determined he had left the scene unharmed.
Kimel said that two suspects, wearing ski masks, entered the victims’ home unannounced and confronted them. “One of the suspects had a gun and the other suspect had a machete.”
After the shooting the suspects are believed to have fled on foot into the woods, but there are conflicting statements from witnesses at the scene, according to Kimel, and no arrests have been made.
Kimel said both of the victims have undergone surgery and are in critical but stable condition. “They will probably require more surgeries down the road.”
