Man Rams Car; Cuts Arm In Patrol Car

A Mocksville man with a prior history of domestic violence is in jail under a $250,000 bond after a night time vehicle chase and wreck.
Steven Gary Shores, 46, of Main Church Road, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, injury to personal property, leaving the scene of an accident, careless/reckless driving, and driving left of center Monday evening.
According to Davie County Sheriff’s Chief J.D. Hartman, on Feb. 28 at approximately 8:30 p.m. a call was received by 911 dispatchers. A female caller was saying that someone was following her before the phone connection was lost. Hartman said that the 911 dispatcher thought they heard the woman scream before the line went dead.
Officers responded to the vicinity of Cana and Pudding Ridge roads and found two vehicles. Several people reported that the man who had chased them, Shores, had ran from the scene.
